My thoughts on that are that unless you are restoring the bike with the original rims, 700c isn't a bad idea. More rims to choose from (new ones, anyway), and also a better selection of tyres. If you do it, be sure your brakes will reach.

It's not blasphemous if the rims are already non-original, is it?
