Indoor Trainer Question

Hello - I am hoping someone here might be able to provide a definite answer (finding different ones online and talking to shop owners) - I am interested in purchasing an indoor smart trainer for the winter. I have a Recumbent Trike with 20" wheel and an internal Hub (so no removable skewer) - it does have the standard bolts (15mm I believe?) - my first choice would be the Elite Qubo Digital Smart B+...for a while I assumed I could not use a trainer other than a roller due to the internal hub. But today I was at a bike shop and tried my Trike on a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine directly onto the bolts and it fit perfectly! My question(s) is - are all the trainers where they hook to your bike pretty much the same standard size? Since my Trike fit on the Kurt Kinect, would it definitely fit on the Elite Qubo as well? Is there anything special about the Elite Trainers that would require you to use their skewer? Thanks so much!!!
