Galli - why all the brakes?

The thread about Sugino cranks got me thinking about Galli (the mind works in mysterious ways). I slowly collected a Galli group (more a collection of parts as they come from various groups) over the past couple years. As a consequence, I've always kept my eye open looking for various Galli bits. If you look at Velobase, you'll see they offered a full range of components with the Galli name. I realize much of the production was contracted out to other companies, Maillard, Simplex, etc.

If you search for Galli stuff on eBay, over a long enough time it becomes apparent that there are way more Galli brakes out there than any of their other small components. (*) The low-end GG76 and GG80 brakes don't seem to be part of a group. Were they perhaps spec'd on some lower end bikes? OTOH, Aerodynamic KL brakes seem to come up for sale relatively rarely.

(*) There are quite a few Galli tubular rims for sale on eBay, but I chalk that up to two factors. One, most of them are in Europe, so would be expensive to ship. Two, most people don't want tubulars these days.
