So I went for an exploratory ride today, there's a new path near me (only 1.6km) and a nearby park that I'd never been to so I thought I'd check them out. Sun was out but wind was up a bit, still a lovely afternoon.

Glad I did the new path the way I did, it was all downhill for me. Would have been 1.6km of hard slog otherwise. Noted for the future.

I got to the park and it was terrible. The concrete path wasn't very wide, was all cracked and broken up and grown over. I was glad when I emerged onto the road again but not entirely satisfied. I spied another entrance a little further up and, with time on my side I thought I'd give it a crack. It was worse. The path was barely a path, all soil and roots and heaps of stairs (grr). Not nice at all. I was hoping the end would come quickly when I happened upon a little bridge so I crossed that, went around a blind corner and...
