Thanks for your thoughts. Stan's new rims do look nice. A NOS set of Weinmann 27 X 1 & 1/4 rims sold at auction yesterday for $113, which I thought was rather $$$$. I only watched because I didn't want to run that wide of a tire. I'll check how much room I have to drop my break pads and then make a decision. I'll keep you posted on my progress.
