dunno...stunt, piuma, fernwood all end up at a gorgeous viewpoint. decker, encinal and latigo canyon are all challenging and fun.
there's ridiculous if you want it (potrero, westlake/23 southbound, las flores, corral cyn for ascents, tuna canyon for a descent).
riding the length of mulholland is a workout in itself and there's flattish and rolling coastal cruising (pch).
the santa monicas are a cycling playground and pretty tough to beat. the ability to compactly mix and match at will in the santa monicas
is really what separates it from other areas.

haven't done painted cave but gibraltar is a classic. kitchen creek is good with the low traffic but i find it kinda boring.
actually prefer doing the sunrise hwy climb from pine valley to the mt. laguna store (only on weekdays) or the
pine creek ascent (if i am filled with self-loathing) with that ridiculous wall but similar low traffic to kitchen creek.
