We need an 89 catalog.
How about the 85 "silver bullet" compared to the 86 silver?
We need an 85 catalog.
What catalogs are you missing?
Btw did you ever try to track down the WSI rep?

FWIW it seems the 89s have the most detailed differences. Components (Suntour GPX), parts (winsta bar and stem), color schemes (solid black or red), geometry (steeper angles) frame changes ( lack of flutes on the chain stay).
This is anecdotal, not scientific. I mixed almost all the paints I've used over time, buying a lot of little bottles of Testors (yellow, red, silver, white, black as base). I also bought several bottles of other colors to "tint" with. I also bought several colors of Duplicolor touch-up paints from Auto Zone and Walmart, namely a Toyota metallic red, a Honda silver, and a Nissan pearl. I've also bought a couple of spray cans of yellow from Walmart, one which turned out very, very close to the '87 yellow.

Dark Red: I found this the same on the Turbo, the Comp TA, the '85 Ironman. There are some two-tone '86 Ironman models out there in red/silver, and I believe that is the same dark red. I used a Toyota dark red metallic, but don't recall the color.

White on the 2-tones: White Testors tinted with beige, also tinted with pearl. I never really got close on this, but the bikes never really needed it.

Brighter Red: Testor's red was very close and I didn't tint it. If I did, I think I'd use a drop of grey.

Silvers: The Turbo, Comp TA and the '85/'86 Ironman used the same. I used a Toyota for those. The lighter Cinelli Equipe used a lighter silver, from Honda. Testor's silver was not close.

The green fade I had, I used a very close nail polish and added white.

The pearls. Good luck. Try to find a pearl clear coat and use that. It's closer. I'm not saying close, but close(r).

The Hard Rock '89 fade is simply different shades of grey. Being under the clear coat makes it tough to do, even if you find a match.

The Purple Haze, I found nearly impossible to match, likewise the Smoke on the Water.

The yellow of the Miami Vice and '87 Master is the same and Testor's yellow is very close. A Walmart spray yellow was dead on.

The black was the easiest.

There is no doubt in my mind that I lacked the patience to do a lot of my touch-up correctly.
