Yes! There is a lock out, which I use the (rare) times when just riding on flats with out pedal assist, but generally I leave the fork active to lessen the harsh aluminum frame ride on poor condition street pavement. Frame is definitely aluminum, but fork could be steel, I'll have to check.

Embossed into the motor casing is "24V 220W" but Schwinn specs in owners manual says 250 W "peak power" which is probably what you get freshly charged as indicated volts are about 26-27.5
