My first Centurion was not a IM , I don't know what it was because I just bought the frame and not even a fork and it was a long time ago . I got into Centurions because they started in Conoga Park , Ca . and I lived there for a bit , found that info from Sheldon Brown . Any how I wanted to give my Centurion a racy look , I found a nice Columbus fork (chrome) , it was off some kind of race bike as it had no fender mounts a beautiful sloping crown and the little Columbus birdie pantoed in . I also ground off the rear fender mounts on the frame . I was able to get a Shimano Santee gruppo , sew up wheels with Santee hubs . Painted it satin white so it really looked good with the Santee white . At the same time I was building a Aluminum TT bike (Stelth BP) it was a POS to ride but I rode it anyway , I was letting my bud Psycho Billy ride the Centurion . One day on a ride he flipped out and ran off , we were 15 mi. from home so I had to ride one hand on my bike and one hand on the Centurion . I got rid of the Alum. bike and the Centurion and built a carbon fiber bike , check it out here just type markwesti

After I got healed up I started thinking I'm not done , I was in a bike shop that had vintage bikes , I was looking at this Italian bike and asked the price , he told me and I fell off the floor . He had some IM's there too , he didn't really want to sell them because they had been in the Tour De France . So that is what got me into the IM scene , got mine from the Bay and proceeded to put money into it and now I don't think I will ever sell it .
