Does anyone else have this problem with Mavic wheels?
I have a pair of Mavic Cosmos wheels that are maybe a season old. Not long after I bought them, I had the bike on the stand to clean the chain and I noticed that if you spin the wheel forwards (in the freewheeling direction) there's enough drag to turn the cranks. In fact if you use the cranks to wind the back wheel to a decent speed then let go of the crank arm, the cranks still keep turning at a pretty good rate. If you grab a crank arm and stop it, it noticably slows the rear wheel. Almost like a dragging brake.
I thought the symptom might diminish as I put miles on the wheelset, but so far it hasn't. Today I read a Mavic wheel review of a Ksyrium where that rider had the same problem. I'm wondering if it's worth worrying about.
Has anyone else noticed this with their Mavics?
