Yes, I was thinking along the same lines. It makes little sense after the fact, there are still ways around them, and if anything they seem a little dangerous. Is there sometimes a bottleneck when multiple people are riding through? I'm usually on that path later at night (after 9pm), when there isn't much bike traffic.

Not sure how I feel about a speed limit for regular bikes, but the motorized stuff either needs to be limited, or restricted to regular roads.
