I just replaced my son's rear fender. He "caught" one of those varmints a while back. His fender was toast, but the squirrel staggered away and then climbed up a tree.
Years ago, when bike lights were absolutely horrid, I caught a glimpse of something black and white dart between my wheels. I got it with my rear wheel. On my return the following day, I saw that I had killed a skunk. Thankfully, he never saw it coming.
