Bikes: Current favorites: 1988 Peugeot Birraritz, 1984 Gitane Super Corsa, 1980s DeRosa, 1981 Bianchi Campione Del Mondo, 1992 Paramount OS, 1988 Colnago Technos, 1985 RalieghUSA SBDU Team Pro

My Raleighs by production year.

1. 1973 Raleigh RRA barn bike that I got about a year and a half ago. All original including the reflectors (except for the tires). Light gage Reynolds 531, Nervex professional lugs, Campy 1060 vertical dropouts, Stronglight 93 cranks, 1st generation Maillard 700 hubs, 1st generation Simplex Super LJ derailleurs, Simplex seatpost, Brooks Pro, 3TTT Record stem fitted to 25.4mm GB bars, Weinmann 500 brakes and Brampton headset.

Every once in a while I clean off some of the 30? years of crud.

2. 1974 Raleigh Team Pro SBDU built SB10. Bought the frame about 10 years ago. It was raced in the 70's and re-chromed and repainted about 1979. It's about 3/4 assembled. Need to finish the job.

3. 1975 Raleigh Pro. Bought the frame 10 years ago. I was in a hurry to ride it but didn't have a Campy British bottom bracket handy so I threw on a Stronglight 93 crankset. I don't ride it very much, I guess I should finish the job.

4. 1979 Raleigh Record. This was a model built for the French market with a Competition GS frame in red, yellow and black team kit. The components are a mixture of Japanese and European. I bought it from someone who worked next door to Raleigh's US headquarters in Boston, MA. It was probably a display bike. He only put maybe 50 miles on it.

5. 1985 Raleigh USA Team Pro. The Reynolds 753 frame was built at Raleigh's SBDU shop in Ilkeston, UK for a Raleigh USA sponsored team. It was originally red with black forks and stays. In it's present iteration it was painted (probably by Raleigh USA) in 1992 with Raleigh USA Technium Team colors. It passed around for a number of years as a spare bike for various amateur teams in the northwest. The frame may have had a carbon fiber fork at one point as the original fork is still painted black. I bought it from a friend. We switched bikes with him on one ride and I HAD to have it!

6. 1990 Raleigh USA Team Technium. Cast aluminum lugs with Reynolds 753 fork and main tubes, Tange 4130 rear triangle. Another unfinished bike.
