No, in all seriousness I've never bought the coffee-snob notion that "if you put anything in your coffee, you don't like coffee". Whiskey drinkers cut it with water to enhance the flavor, even a great steak needs at least some salt, and a bit of cream does wonders for coffee. It holds true for stronk coffee made via pourover, and I suspect I'd find it holds true for coffee made from a fancy espresso machine. Adding a bit of cream makes it taste more like coffee, not less. There might be something to it with the people who have it with "six creams and six sugars", but in my experience those people have a remarkable level of overlap with the people who have only ever had office or gas station coffee.
There is no reason that coffee should mean only one thing. A latte is simply a different drink from an espresso shot. Not better or worse, or more right or wrong, just different. And besides that, **** anyone who thinks they can tell me what to like. Suggestions I am quite receptive to. Instructions, not so much.
