I know this, so i mentioned, that i'm planning to use tires, that have effectively/actually 58mm/2.3" (measured with a caliper at the widest point). I hope someone has exactly this Trek model and will be able to check how much space is left with tires at certain width.

For example, one member will say that his 2.25 knobbies at 56mm actual width sit tight, and another will say that 52mm tire have some space to spare. This will be good starting point for me
