I've visited Death Valley many times and have often thought that under the right circumstances, cycling there could be excellent. Timing and preparation would be key, obviously.
I have a friend who comes from back East to do an organized ride in Death Valley. In the winter, I think. He loves it and keeps asking me to do it.
