So I had to search out an unlinked website ( https://www.bernzomatic.com/Products...-On-Off/TS8000 ) to see if this head uses an O tank too. It doesn't.


Why do I start with this tid bit? Because it's still using the same gas and air to provide energy. Unless the amount of gas passing through the head is different the energy produced will be the same. If the flame's shape is different then the same amount of energy might be better concentrated but not necessarily be greater overall. I doubt you'll find out these details on line, but that's only my speculation. I suspect you'll really need to have one to try to get the answer you seek.


I will add that this topic comes up pretty routinely. It's a common desire to use low cost and easily gotten tools. Just about all who have gone down this path before you find that a OA or OP torch set is so much better for frame work. Andy
