When I was about 16 I took a look at all foods I didn't like/didn't agree with me, and they had in common 2 ingredients: vinegar (as typified by my blood curdling reaction to pickles), and tomatoes.

Yep, acid reflux will do that. Vinegar is super acidic, and while tomatoes are not, they relax your stomach muscles to let the acid out.

Since I did that, I realized I wasn't really picky, just couldn't deal with those ingredients. And after that I was happy to expand my palette in many wonderful ways.
I use vinegar in a lot of my cooking.
