IME tread increases pneumatic trail. I bet it's a combination of the bike having higher trail, a heavier/wider front tire and that front tire having a fairly aggressive tread.

I noticed the same issue when switching from a bike with 75mm trail and 61mm trail using the same wheel/tire on the front. The first standing pedal stroke is always interesting but now that I've acclimated I settle in to the differences pretty quickly.
