Dude, you have no idea of what I know or don't know and I'm not interested in a pissing match but suffice to say the ideas you are talking about aren't some well hidden mystery to a lot of us. Taking the lane may be new to you but it's an old technique that was much more common
30 years ago when there were very few marked shoulders and absolutely no bike lanes. Back then it really was take a lane or ride the edge. From that perspective road conditions today are often fantastic in comparison so I'm acquainted with it, but glad to be able to employ it less and less often as road conditions have improved so that it's now a seldom needed alternative. Why anyone would want to go back to the "bad old days" is beyond me.
As to what I've written. It seems I've been able to explain myself reasonably well and pose some pretty basic safety concerns that you mostly avoid dealing with by saying it will never happen to you because you see all traffic and all traffic sees you. Ok.. I guess...
