Its cool converting bikes to ss too since it lets you re-live good times with your bike, and also recycling. I have a '85 Schwinn Letour with 6900mi on the original drivetrain that I got second hand off the curb. After putting 6900 mi on it, converted the drivers to ss/fixed, and its still going. Had to finally replace the square taper bb this year due to lots of pitting on the spindle, but now it runs good as new.
