What I meant to say is that it was only used on the bikes near the bottom of the Trek line up at the time. I could be wrong about even that, but that's what it's looked like in the old catalogs I've perused. Even so, it's not right to call those "entry level" because Trek didn't do anything that would have been in the entry level category across the industry.

FWIW, my Trek 614 has Ishiwata 022 stays and fork blades (Reynolds 531 main triangle), and I like it a lot.
