You can find fixed wheelsets for $100 and even better, full fixed steeds with cartridge bearing wheelsets for less than $200. Times are very different now than when I first started. There were no fixed gear wheelsets or that many fixed complete bikes for that matter. We had to build our own custom fixed wheels and "put together" a fixed. Parts were few and far between. The community was smaller and tighter. I used to be able to sell fixed gear conversions on Craigslist for $450. Now I'd be lucky to get over $200 for the same bike. Once fixed got popular and the internet blew up, prices sunk to the basement.
