Another option would be to get just a rear track wheel, so you have a flip flop track hub and the ability to put a lockring on the fixed cog. If you can find one that matches your front wheel, (there are some out there for around $60), you could save a few bucks and probably get a freewheel on the other side of the hub to play around with.
