It's his and his parent's responsiblity to decide what is and what isn't appropriate for him to be exposed to. Personally having years of experience working with children I know for a fact a 14 yr old is seeing and doing and talking about way worse things we every might bring up so, just because his parents are crazy censorship nazis doesn't mean we need to feel bad.
