+1 Also Bikeman has good videos, though he tends to be loquatious.

If you are worried about polishing, try an inconspicuous spot first - like the caution on a carpet cleaning product.

Saddles are a very personal thing. Check out videos on fitting and seat bone measurements. This is the place where you may need a good LBS that will let you exchange or at least get credit towards a saddle that is more comfortable.
