Squirt some WD40 on the threads, and tap the notched spacer thing off counterclockwise (normal threads, not backwards) using the tip of a flat blade screwdriver in the notch and your hammer tapping on the end of the screwdriver.
Cannot get the pedals off of the cranks. I'm thinking some wd-40 will help?
The pedals should have come off before your took the crank off; much easier to do them with the bike sitting on the ground, chain in place. Also, can you guess which pedal is reverse threaded? (Hint: it's not the drive side this time) Once the crank is removed, you can hold the crank arm in place in a vise (padded with an old towel or something) to work off the pedals. And yes, first squirt some WD40 in the pedal threads to help loosen them.
Also, I've got a spacer but am wondering if I can get the BB off without buying a specific wrench?
Spacer? I've gotten an adjustable cup off by tapping off the lock ring in the same way I suggested taking off your headset spacer, above. Then improvised a pin wrench (piece of wood with two small nails) to back the actual cup out. I don't recommend this however, the proper tools work better.
