Upgrading a crankset is probably the least improvement you can get for money spent
problem is that if I save up for a few months, and my wife knows that I have cash under the bed, she will want a new fridge or a new washing machine, so I prefer to buy a component every month

another question: If I get the Dura Ace 9000 groupset, is there a compatabile newer Dura Ace rear derailieur that will work with the DA 9000 groupset and handle an 11-32 cassette? (Or do I have to get a long cage Ultegra derailieur?
