The jointed clamps give it more flexibility to fit all sorts of frame tube sizes, but I wonder if it increases the chances of scratching up the paint on your frame tubes too.....
All the clamps on my bikes, including the ones for FDs, get a quick session with my Dremel, to ease and smooth out any sharp edges, before I install them on any of my bikes. I'd do the same with these....
