Out in the Tri-Valley, I asked my wife if she was shaking the bed or if we were having an earthquake. She was awake enough to answer and indicate she didn't know what I was talking about. Since she was awake (but barely), I suspect it penetrated her brain enough to wake her even if she didn't realize the bed was shaking. It was pretty darned gentle.
