I was in a shop today looking for something else and saw them on display and thought I'd grab a small pack, I've seen threads in the past telling me how wonderful they are and also threads saying they get you home until you can do a proper repair ... if that's so in my mind you'd be better off either doing it properly or carrying a spare inner and repairing it when you get home.

The pack I picked up were Scabs ... again I don't know if they're any good or if there are better available, the guy in the shop was as honest as the day is long (he was telling me I could buy alternate clothing elsewhere that would do the same job for 1/2 the price ... a genuinely nice guy but bet his employer would hate him ) and he said he used them for simplicity and said they were quite good.

Interested to hear what other people's opinions are on them??
Like all patches they tend to suck but I tend to carry both since they don't take up extra space when carried together (the pack for the glued patches has space for glueless). On the road I tend to replace the tube because it is less work and I might patch back at the house or at camp (if I am touring).
