The thing that made me think was something a friend pointed out. If I didn't feel the earthquake or thought that it was my dogs, there could have been a larger one that caused the house to collapse. With me thinking it was the dogs and me rolling over yanking the blankets over my head like I usually do, then I could have been killed without even trying to scramble to live.
Kind of a creepy thought but if I were to go, I'd rather go without the panic.
