My first preference is Mavic Open Pro, but they have changed the design recently and the older, classic ones are getting harder to find and have been running about $200 a pair. Next option is Mavic Open Elites, I've built two pairs of wheels with them (one tricolor, one 6700 Ultegra) and think they are every bit as nice riding as Open Pros...in fact one set is on my Merckx Century. Also not sure if they come in any finish but silver with a machined brake track. Mine are both silver 32 hole and look great.
Hard to find new MA40's or similar hard ano box section rims these days, but Wayne Bingham at Velo Classique in VA can set you up wit a pair of Wolber Alpines that look just like them and make a great wheel. I've built several sets of Campagnolo Record hub wheelsets with them and they are nice riding & also very durable. He can also build you a set of wheels, but don't know how long his waitlist is these days.
If you are thinking maybe semiaero rims, just a little aero, then look into DT Swiss 460 rims. I have them on my Canyon, and they are a very nice product. Recently saw them online (BikeHub? Wheelbuilder.com?) for like $42 each for the rim brake version.
