My indoor rides are usually 40-75 minutes. I'm glad I can occasionally ride my usual 50 miles route outdoors on warmer days with dry pavement in the winter. My indoor training rides are just for staying active on days when a combination of very cold and/or icy weather keeps me indoor in the winter or as a convenient substitute when time is limited.

When I ride my bike I feel free and happy and strong. I'm liberated from the usual nonsense of day to day life. Solid, dependable, silent, my bike is my horse, my fighter jet, my island, my friend. Together we will conquer that hill and thereafter the world.
