They will, to a degree. The holes are often not round, the gauge makes it easier to get closer, especially if the lug is flat.

Maybe I’m missing something, wouldn’t a set of dial or digital calipers do the same thing? While waiting to get educated and learn something new I think I’ll go look up IceToolz
