No stairs for me, my arthritic knees would say 'NO' after the first flight, and really it's no use arguing. I miss stairs, but at least I can still hike up the steepest trails with little problem.

DOMS is delayed onset muscle soreness.
Happens to pretty much everyone if you don't use certain muscles regularly.
I'm going through a bit of it from my run on Sunday.
