Bikes: A green one, "Ragleigh," or something.

I have often thought I would really enjoy an eight speed internal hub on a light weight bike. Kudos for this build.
Ugh. Grip shifts are OK, but only on flat bars, which in my stable means exactly one bike.

Kind of a moot point with the Alfine 8 which, AFAIK, only works with the original (lame) trigger shifters that Shimano packs with them, or the J-tek barcon, like the one I have on my bike. If there is a grip shifter that will index with this hub, I don't know of it. If it exists, I'd like it slightly more that the trigger shifter, maybe.

For the record, the IGH added about 2.5 lbs to my otherwise lightweight bike. Part of that, no doubt, is the rims, which are very stout. Ditto the Vittoria Randonneur Cross tires. The bike sits at about 28 lbs, with fenders.
