shown here is Cedar Hills Drive, a 14% grade going down to the Illinois River flood plain. This is why I bought a triple crank.

My second highest max speed ever was on that hill back in the early 90s on a tandem. Something like 56 mph and change. One of the old club guys talks about it frequently.
Probably our second lowest speed ever on the tandem was the return trip back up.
