Sorry to say, but sanding down the CF frame probably was a bad idea. The whole composite is important, CF is not homogeneous material like Al or steel. There is a protective coat layer, and CF layered in defined directions. Like a steel truss or similar in a building structure. Take some elements out, and it is bad.
