Yeah. I have tossed more than my fair share of apple cores into the woods/bushes. I like to think of all the happy critters and insects who got something extra to munch on.


But as I wrote above, who's to say that at least some of cartridges are not from rifles and such. Many moons ago there used to be a swimming hole in a steep, wooded area of the city. Lots of cartridges at the bottom. They certainly were not from cyclists. And unless the OP examined them closely, they could also be nitrous oxide cartridges.
