When I was limited to one, it wasn't a problem because I never considered two! Then the desire for a MTB hit and a RockHopper was purchased. This led to the issue of being out of shape and riding the MTB over the RB (road bike). Suddenly there was versatility!
I was thinking of upgrading the RB (Le Champion) and found BF. Never been the same.
I have multiple bikes for the same purpose with the differences being the period technology difference. If I had to cull the heard, I would start missing miles ridden.
WRT projects, I have several that have been in limbo for several years. They do hang in the awareness fog. Having several interests, I find that my focus changes over time. Having a project to come back to is gratifying. I don't get all up tight about not finishing it if the parts are still around.
Which leads to another topic of hoarding. With my declining memory, I am afraid to sell anything until everything is assembled. We recently moved (Dec). I opened a box and found a white Brooks Pro. Can't remember who I bought it from, how much or where or when! Now I need to figure out what to do with it. Maybe on the Pinarello......
