Bring extra tubes... we went through a few on our trip from philly. I even brought an extra folding gatorskin tire just in case something REALLY bad happened. A lot of the areas we went through didnt have a bike shop for miles and miles. You can read about it on http://bangboston.blogspot.com/ when Mattgarfield busted a spoke, we were lucky to have a really nice lady stop, load up our bikes in her truck and drive us the 10 miles (in the opposite direction) to the nearest bike shop. We would have blown a whole day trying to walk there, or ride a bike whos wheel was getting more and more wobbly every mile. So yeah, my point is that you will want to bring tools and tubes... we even considered bringing a few extra spokes... but didnt due to the fact that we would need to bring a bunch of different sizes and it didnt seem worth it.
