Tip for home mechanics wishing to travel to and fro betwixt Verot headsets and others -
When a manufacturer intends to fit a V4 to one of their creations they need to make the fork crown race seat of relatively low height. This is because the inner face of the V4 fork crown race is stepped. If one attempts to mount a V4 headset to a machine which did not come with it originally they may find that the race cannot seat down on top of the fork crown.
In the two images below one can make out a line or ridge about halfway down the inner face of the fork crown race. In the second picture we are looking at the race upside down.
The P3 model does not present this complication. In the image below the fork crown race is in the centre. It can be seen that its inner face is of constant diameter.
