Hello from the Republic of California!
Hello all! You can call me Jeremy (or Khánh). My true home is Cupertino, California, but I now hail from the land of Redwoods, granola, green smoke, and hostage freeways: the little city of Santa Cruz.
My lifelong like for biking flourished into a passion at the beginning of high school, when my best friend "donated" his unwieldy, hi-ten steel Pure Fix(TM) to me for a measly $60. Over the years, I've swapped its stock components out for lighter, faster, and sexier ones that, nevertheless, remain at odds with the frameset: a dingy white behemoth weighing just a few pounds shy of a Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. B. In all seriousness (and despite the amount of crap I give my bike), I love the thing dearly and will doubtlessly continue to ride it even after buying a new bike.
This forum has been a fantastic source of information for me throughout the years, so I figured that I should finally try to give back to the community and make an account--and here we are!
In the coming years, I hope to get more deeply involved in crits, track cycling, framebuilding, and real long-distance cycling--think of those crazy buggers who bike from Quebec to Antarctica (boy, I really should take a geography class next quarter).
When not doing things on my bike that give other fixed-gear riders a bad name, you can find me skiing, composing music, swimming, playing rugby, volunteering, using the telescope, practicing the marimba and trombone, hiking, and writing.
Thanks for being a great community, and I can't wait to get more involved in it!
