I have a Schwinn S-30 with 3.5 inches of travel. I have plans to fabricate a bracket to put the shock lower on the swing arm. That will create a greater ratio and will give me 4 or 4.5 inches of travel. I wanted to go to 5, but I don't think this is very reallistic. I'm not worried about stress because the Schwinn swing arm is a bit overkill and the thickness of metal is much greater than on newer bikes, also, I only weigh 125 pounds.

I was able to find the '05 all mountain 3 for a fair price, but I am weight countious and that fork is on the heavy side - I don't want to go over 4.3-4.4 pounds. Does anybody know the exact weight of this thing?
