The problem is that valve cores that aren’t secured are gripped by the rubber gasket in the hose or adapter.

If they are properly torqued* the gasket isn’t able to unscrew them.

*this isn’t rocket science folks, all you have to do is make them more than finger-tight.
One of these days, you're going to screw a valve core in "more than finger tight" and it's going to come out on you anyhow. You'll be the F-Bomb then.
