I'm riding from Irvine to Upland, and when I use googlemaps or RWGPS, it routes me through Lower Aliso Canyon Trail, which appears to be a dirt path i.e. not for my road bike. Can someone confirm that, i.e. that Lower Aliso Canyon trail is dirt and not paved?

Assuming it is dirt trail, can someone who is familiar with this area (e.g. Anaheim up to Upland) help me with the best paved route?

Just for example, say the starting point is near : 14201 Jeffrey Rd, Irvine, CA 92620
and ending point is near: 8880 Base Line Rd, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91701

Seems like my two options are either:

1) Go up through Placentia, Diamond Bar Blvd, Pomona...

or

2) Take SART to Corona, then go up through Chino
