Thanks, I live in Irvine and so the segment from Irvine to Anaheim area is my backyard.

I'm more interested in knowing if the route toward the west of the hills - through Diamond Bar - is more or less preferable to the route that is east of the hills, i.e. going to green river at Corona then northward on Hamner as described above.
