Bikes: Soma Fog Cutter, Surly Wednesday, Canfielld Tilt

I have owned and put a lot of miles on both. First the Bon Jons and then (now) the Barlows, both in the superlight versions.

I used both of these tires on my one “all-road” bike that I use for all my paved, gravel, and dirt road rides. I find they are both excellent at pretty much everything unless there is mud.

Overall, I prefer the Bon Jons. The size difference between the two is only 3 mm, but the weight difference is pretty big. I don’t really care THAT much about the weight, but the Barlows are also not quite and supple, smooth and fast feeling as the Bon Jons were.

Don’t get me wrong, I do like the Balows a lot, and by any measure they are supple, smooth and fast, it’s just that I liked the Bon Jons better.
