That's an excellent question and if you were trying to unscrew the pedal the wrong way, no wrench would have survived the attempt if you were determined enough.

The PW-5 is strong enough for any reasonable pedal removal but if you get one badly corroded in place it can be really difficult. If you expect to run into a lot of very difficult uber-tight pedals, get a Park PW-4.
